6 Injured in Woodfords Crash on Highway 88 Thursday
Woodfords, California (July 6, 2019) – Six people were injured Thursday morning in a head-on collision in Woodfords, according to a local news source.
The wreck happened at about 10:15 a.m. Thursday, July 4 on Highway 88.
As per the report, a Honda CRV driven by a 69-year-old Palmdale, was traveling eastbound on Highway 88 when for unknown reasons it crossed over the center median and into the path of a Toyota Tacoma that was traveling westbound.
A Sparks man driving the Tacoma attempted to avoid the collision by driving onto the north shoulder but was unable to avoid the crash and collided head-on with Honda. The force of the impact caused the Honda to roll over several times before coming to a stop on its wheels.
Major-Injury Crash on Highway 88 in Woodfords
An 8-year-old boy, a 10-year-old girl, and 17-year old girl in the Honda were also ejected. All sustained injuries as a result of the crash.
A 66-year-old Sparks woman sustained major injuries and two other passengers in the Tacoma had minor injuries.
Highway 88 was shut down as crews worked at the scene.
