San Diego, California (June 8, 2019) – A man was hospitalized with major injuries following a bicycle collision that took place on Friday night in the Midway District, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The crash happened at about 8:45 p.m. June 7, in the 3550 block of Rosecrans Street.

Police said a bicycle with two riders was traveling against traffic when it was hit by a silver car that was pulling out of a driveway.

Man Seriously Injured in Midway District Bicycle Crash 

The San Diego Fire-Rescue responded to the incident and attended to the injured riders.

One of the victims, a 32-year-old man, was transported to a hospital with major injuries including a fractured leg. His passenger was also hospitalized with minor bruises.

Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have played a role.

The crash is under investigation.
