Driver Critically Injured in Hanford Truck Accident on Highway 198

Hanford, California (June 6, 2019) – At least one person sustained major injuries in a traffic crash that involved a fire truck and a car in Hanford Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported just before 11:08 a.m. June 6, at Highway 198 and 6th Avenue.
The accident happened when a white Saturn SUV clipped the back of a Kings County fire engine parked on the roadside. Due to the impact, the vehicle went off the roadway about 20 feet and overturned before it landed back on its wheels.
The driver of the car sustained severe injuries as a result of the accident. The victim was taken to Adventist in Hanford hospital for treatment by an air ambulance. It was not clear whether or not there was an occupant in the parked truck at the time of the collision.
Meanwhile, the crash remains under an active investigation.
