Adelanto, California (June 2, 2019) – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner has identified Manuel Ortiz, 47, of Lancaster as one of the two people who were killed Friday night in a head-on crash in Adelanto.

The tragic wreck occurred at about 9:46 p.m. Friday, May 31 on El Mirage Road near Pico Avenue.

Authorities said an SUV collided head-on with another vehicle on El Mirage Road for reasons still under investigation.

Ortiz and another person in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics.

The accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
