14-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized in Simi Valley Car Accident at Stearns and Cochran streets

Simi Valley, California (May 28, 2019) – A 14-year-old boy riding a skateboard sustained significant injuries in a traffic collision that involved a car in Simi Valley Tuesday morning, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.
The collision, which was reported at around 7:45 a.m. May 28, occurred at Stearns and Cochran streets.
The accident happened when the ninth-grade student riding a skateboard in the southbound was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Cochran Street. The initial report indicated that the boy was crossing the road at the time of the collision.
The boy was seriously hurt following the wreck. He was immediately transported to a hospital by the paramedics for treatment.
The driver of the involved car who was identified as 33-year-old Simi Valley woman and two passenger kids were not hurt in the crash.
Meanwhile, the police are still investigating to identify what caused the crash.
