Fresno, California (May 26, 2019) – A 54-year-old woman of Modesto died in a traffic collision that involved a big rig in Fresno Saturday afternoon.

The collision, which was reported at around 12:30 p.m. May 25, occurred on Highway 140 near Merced.

The Merced California Highway Patrol officers indicated that the accident happened when the Woman traveling behind a big rig failed to stop and swerved left to avoid colliding with the other vehicles hence ended up crashing into the truck. Primary reports indicated that the eastbound traffic had stopped while the big rig was making a left turn into a driveway at the time of the accident.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash. The name of the deceased has not yet been released to this time.

Meanwhile, the crash remains under an active investigation.
