Estavan Jesus Donato Arrested after Fatal Street Racing Accident at Grapefruit Boulevard and Mitchell Drive in Coachella
Coachella, California (May 21, 2019) – A man was arrested following a suspected street-racing accident that left two people dead on Friday evening in Coachella, according to the authorities.
The crash occurred at around 6:54 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the intersection of Grapefruit Boulevard and Mitchell Drive.
According to the authorities, a grey Ford truck and a white passenger vehicle collided for an unknown reason at the intersection.

A man in the Ford truck was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman from the same truck was extricated from the wreckage and was rushed to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the white vehicle was airlifted to the hospital with severe injuries.
Street racing was a factor in the crash. Police on Saturday arrested Estavan Jesus Donato, 27, of Coachella on charges of vehicular manslaughter. It’s unclear what his role was in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
