Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Fallbrook Patrol Car Accident on 5 Freeway and Rainbow Valley Boulevard

Fallbrook, California (May 3, 2019) – A motorcyclist was critically hurt in a traffic accident involving a patrol car in Fallbrook Thursday afternoon.
The accident, which was reported at around 5:30 p.m. May 2, occurred on 5 Freeway and Rainbow Valley Boulevard.
A motorcycle collided with a sedan on-duty patrol vehicle on the northbound 5 Freeway for reasons still under investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol report. Due to the impact, the rider was thrown down in the slow lane of the freeway.
The motorcycle rider sustained severe injuries following the accident. The victim was taken to the hospital for further medication after being attended to by the Paramedics. The current condition and identity of the patient have not yet been released. The CHP did not clarify whether or not the occupants in the patrol car were injured.
Meanwhile, the crash remains under an active investigation.
