Pilot Hospitalized after Upland Plane Crash near Cable Airport
Upland, California (May 1, 2019) – A pilot was injured Wednesday when a replica World War II-era German plane with a swastika on its tail crashed in inland Southern California, according to a local news report.
The crash happened near Cable Airport in Upland.
Authorities said the Storch FL-156C crashed for reasons still under investigation after taking off from Cable Airport.
The pilot, who was the only person aboard, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately provided.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
