Luis Sanchez ID’d as Modesto Man Killed in Merced County Motorcycle Crash on Turlock Road
Merced County, California (April 24, 2019) – The 42-year-old Modesto man who was killed Sunday afternoon in a head-on crash in Merced County has been identified as Luis Sanchez, according to the Merced County Coroner’s Office.
The tragic accident happened at around 2:14 p.m. Sunday, April 21 on Turlock Road halfway between Snelling and Ballico.
According to the CHP, Sanchez was riding his 2009 Harley-Davidson eastbound on Turlock Road when for as of yet to be determined reasons he allowed the motorcycle to drift into the westbound lane, where it collided head-on with a 2012 Volvo Semi driven by Adam Berryhill, 38, of Hilmar, which was heading westbound, east of Looney Road.

Sanchez was declared deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, Berryhill stopped at the scene and complied with investigators. Authorities determined Berryhill was not under the influence at the time of the collision.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
