One Person Killed in Chico Multi-Vehicle Crash at Marigold Avenue and East Avenue
Chico, California (April 14, 2019) – One person was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Saturday evening at an intersection in Chico, according to the Chico Police Department.
The crash took place at Marigold Avenue and East Avenue at around 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13.
Chico police said a driver was traveling eastbound on East Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and crashed into a second car. A third vehicle was also side-swiped at the intersection but no one inside that vehicle was hurt.

The two occupants of the car that was hit at the intersection were both rushed to a hospital, where one of them was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle was also taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
Police said the driver of the eastbound vehicle may have been impaired at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
