24-Year-Old Kip Ford Seriously Hurt in Mendocino County Head-On Crash on US Highway 101

Mendocino County, California (April 5, 2019) – 24-year-old Kip Ford of Eureka was airlifted to the hospital after being seriously injured in a head-on collision in Mendocino County Wednesday morning.
The accident was reported at around 11:04 a.m. April 3, at the Green Bridge on Highway 101.
The accident happened when an SUV crossed the yellow lines and slammed head-on into a southbound Ford Mustang driven by Kip Ford. Due to the impact, the SUV overturned and landed on its side with the back-end above the Russian River.
Kip Ford Injured in Mendocino County Car Crash
Kip Ford sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to Ukiah Valley Medical Center following the wreck. A 19-year-old female passenger in Ford was also hurt and transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Another passenger in the SUV, identified as 30-year-old Amber Young, was also hospitalized for treatment of major injuries.
The SUV driver suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa. He was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The crash is under investigation.
