Isabel Fraire Dies in Fatal San Luis Obispo Crash on Highway 46 near Cholame Y Intersection

San Luis Obispo, California (March 25, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a deadly two-vehicle collision that left three people injured in San Luis Obispo on Saturday morning has been identified.

According to the CHP, Isabel Rodriguez Fraire, 54, of Wasco, died in the fatal collision that occurred at about 6:30 a.m. March 23, on Highway 46 near Cholame “Y” intersection.

CHP said the driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer, Holga Godinezxochitla, 33, of Wasco, was exiting the Jack Ranch Cafe when he tried to turn left and entered the path of a Toyota minivan heading west on Highway 46.

Fraire, who was riding as a back seat passenger in the Mitsubishi, was ejected by the impact. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Godinezxochitla and two other occupants of the Mitsubishi were all transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo with major injuries.

There were seven people riding in the minivan at the time of the crash. None of the occupants was hurt.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the crash.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
