72-Year-Old Woman Killed in Carmichael Pedestrian Accident on Arden Way
Sacramento, California (March 25, 2019) – A second 72-year-old pedestrian has died from her injuries sustained after being hit by a vehicle in the Carmichael area of Sacramento Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal accident happened at around 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 22 on Arden Way.
The CHP said a 16-year-old girl was driving a car westbound on Arden Way when for an undetermined reason she drifted to the right shoulder and struck two women who were walking along on the shoulder.

Both 72-year-old Sacramento women suffered major injuries and were rushed to a hospital, where one of them succumbed to her injuries Friday and the second woman died Saturday.
The teenage driver reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. CHP said alcohol and drugs did not appear to have played a role in the crash.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
