Shingletown Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 44 near Shingletown

Shasta County, California (March 24, 2019) – A 29-year-old man was killed and three others injured in a two-vehicle collision near Shingletown on Saturday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. March 23, on Highway 44 at Airport Way.

CHP said a Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Wyatt William Coble, 24, of Shingletown, was traveling eastbound on Highway 44 when he swerved into the path of oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a westbound Ford Explorer.

Shingletown Man Dies in Shasta County Head-On Crash

A passenger in the Jetta, only identified as a 29-year-old man from Shingletown, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of both vehicles and a passenger in the Ford were hospitalized with minor-to-major injuries.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
