San Diego, California (March 23, 2019) – A 48-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Friday evening in San Diego, as per a local news source.

The crash was reported at about 7:45 p.m. March 22, in the 400 block of College Avenue south of Montezuma Road and San Diego State University.

The San Diego police said a 66-year-old driver struck the pedestrian, a 48-year-old woman who was from the outside state visiting her daughter.

Woman Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Crash

The victim was critically injured and was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver fled the scene but returned within an hour.

The names of the parties involved were not disclosed.

The crash remains under investigation.
