San Diego, California (March 21, 2019) – A 67-year-old woman was severely injured after a head-on collision Wednesday morning in the College West community, San Diego, according to a local news source.

The collision was reported at around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at 5000 Campanile Drive.

As per the report, the woman was driving a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound when her vehicle swerved across the double yellow line for unknown reasons and crashed head-on into a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck operated by a 35-year-old man.

Responding paramedics transported the injured woman to an area hospital. The victim was treated for a fracture with a dislocation to her left ankle and an open fracture to her right ankle.

It remained unclear whether the man was injured in the collision.

An investigation by the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is underway.
