La Jolla, CA: 2 Men Die in Hang Gliding Accident near Torrey Pines Gliderport and Black’s Beach

La Jolla, California (March 10, 2019) – A fatal hang gliding accident left two men dead on Saturday afternoon in La Jolla, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened at about 2:40 p.m. March 9 near Torrey Pines Gliderport and Black’s Beach.

The report showed that a 43-year-old Orange County man, who was getting an advanced certification, was going southbound when made a sharp turn and ran into the second glider, who was was a more experienced pilot going north.

Both gliders were killed in the accident. Their names were not immediately released but the report showed that the second glider was a 61-year-old man from San Diego.

The authorities are conducting an investigation into the deadly incident.
