David Ranker Among 2 Injured in Vallecito Car Accident at Highway 4 and Parrots Ferry Road
Vallecito, California (March 9, 2019) – A man from Murphys has been identified as one of the two people injured Tuesday evening in a traffic crash at an intersection in Vallecito.
The collision happened at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at the intersection of Highway 4 and Parrots Ferry Road.
As per the CHP report, Jeffery Burton, 50, of Vallecito, was driving a 2016 Nissan Titan when he made a turn directly into the path of a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by David Ranker, 74, of Murphys.
One of the vehicles was pushed down the embankment by the collision.
Ranker was airlifted to a hospital in Modesto with moderate injuries. His passenger, Mindy Lafan, 64, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators said alcohol and drugs were unlikely involved in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
