Contra Costa County, California (March 4, 2019) – One person was airlifted to a hospital following a head-on collision in Contra Costa County early Monday morning, according to the authorities.
The crash was reported at about 4:52 a.m. on I-160 near Sherman Island Cross Road near the Antioch Bridge.
According to the report, emergency crews responded to the incident and found a patient trapped inside a vehicle that sustained major damage in the incident.
The victim was pulled out of the wreck and flown to a hospital with major injuries.
A second person was taken to a hospital by the AMR ambulance.
The bridge was shut down in the northbound direction as the scene was cleared.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
