Man Killed in San Diego Big Rig Crash on Interstate 5 near Imperial Avenue
San Diego, California (February 26, 2019) – A driver was killed in an accident involving a big rig on Monday afternoon in the East Village neighborhood of San Diego, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident was reported at about 1:00 p.m. February 25, on the Interstate 5 Southbound Freeway near Imperial Avenue.
Police said the male driver of a car traveling southbound on the freeway swerved and struck a disabled truck which was stopped to repair a flat tire.
The driver of the car was declared dead at the scene. The name of the man was not released pending notification of the next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
