Guadalupe Maldonado Hospitalized after 2-Vehicle Crash at South Washington and West Harding Roads in Turlock
Guadalupe Maldonado Seriously Injured in Turlock Car Accident at South Washington and West Harding Roads; Jose Borba Arrested
Turlock, California (February 24, 2019) – A woman was hospitalized Friday afternoon after a traffic accident southwest of Turlock, the California Highway Patrol said.
The wreck happened shortly before 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 22 at the intersection of South Washington and West Harding roads.
The CHP said Jose Borba, 56, of Delhi, was driving a 2010 Toyota Tundra westbound on Harding Road when he stopped at the Washington Road intersection.
Guadalupe Maldonado was driving her 2012 Honda Civic northbound on Washington at approximately 58 mph and had the right of way.
As Maldonado neared the intersection, Borba started to cross Washington, into Maldonado’s path. She was unable to avoid the collision.
Maldonado was transported to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries. Her condition was not immediately disclosed.
Borba was arrested, but he did not appear in the Stanislaus County Jail booking log Sunday morning.
It was undetermined if drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
