Minor Injuries Sustained in Santa Clarita Accident on 5 Freeway and Castaic Scales

Santa Clarita, California (February 15, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle collision Thursday morning in the area of Santa Clarita, according to authorities.
The collision happened at around 8:39 a.m. Thursday, on 5 Freeway north of Castaic Scales.
As per the CHP officials, three vehicles including a green Hyundai and a big rig crashed for unknown reasons.
An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene to attend to the injured parties. The number of victims and their current condition was not immediately known.
Authorities issued a SigAlert closing lanes 2, 3 and 4 following the collision. The roadway was cleared as of 9:57 a.m.
The Hyundai sustained significant rear damage while the big rig had front-end damage as a result of the crash.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
No additional information concerning this incident was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
