Santa Ana, California (February 10, 2019) – A wrong-way female driver was killed and a 62-year Santa Ana man was injured Sunday morning in a head-on collision on a Santa Ana street, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident took place at around 5:30 a.m. on Warner Avenue near Oak Street.

As per the report, a white Toyota van driven by a woman, was heading westbound in eastbound lanes of Warner Avenue when it collided head-on with a Gold Toyota Tundra pickup driven by the 62-year Santa Ana man.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and took the two drivers to Orange County Global Medical Center, where the female driver of the van later succumbed to her injuries. Her name has not been released pending identification and notification of family.

Authorities said the driver of the pickup suffered moderate injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The two vehicles sustained major front-end damage in the accident.

Alcohol was considered a factor in the crash.
