Two Hospitalized after San Diego Car Accident on Interstate 8
San Diego, California (February 9, 2019) – Two people were hospitalized Saturday morning following a multi-vehicle collision on an East County freeway, according to a local news source.
According to a California Highway Patrol incident log, the wreck occurred just after 11:00 a.m. on westbound Interstate 8 near Johnson Avenue and involved five vehicles.
A witness told a CHP official that a white sports car crashed into a center median barrier and rolled over.
The sports car then struck another vehicle and caused a collision involving several other vehicles.
Two people were transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The names of the patients and their condition were not immediately available.
As per the report, one vehicle was stuck blocking the No. 2 lane, and the other cars were able to get over to the right-hand shoulder.
Further details were not immediately available, and the crash remains under investigation.
