2 Killed, Several Hurt in Pacifica Car Crash on Highway 1 near Clarendon Road
Pacifica, California (February 9, 2019) – Two people were killed while several others injured in a two-vehicle accident involving a wrong-way driver in Pacifica early Saturday morning, according to the CHP.
The wreck was reported at about 4:18 a.m. on Highway 1 near Clarendon Road.
CHP said a Toyota Prius was heading south in the northbound lanes of Highway 1 when it collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado.
A male passenger in the Toyota was ejected by the impact and died at the scene. A second passenger in the Toyota, described as a female in her 20s to 30s, also died in the crash.
The Toyota driver was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital with critical injuries. Two men riding in the Chevrolet were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The authorities are conducting an investigation into the crash.
