City of Industry, CA: Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Echelon Avenue
39-Year-OId Valinda Man Killed in City of Industry Pedestrian Accident on Echelon Avenue near Pocono Street

City of Industry, California (February 3, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night as he walked in a street in the City of Industry, according to authorities.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident was reported at around 9:26 p.m. Saturday, February 2 on Echelon Avenue, just south of Pocono Street.
The CHP said the pedestrian, a 39-year-old Valinda man, was walking eastbound within the southbound lane of Echelon Avenue when he was hit by a 2010 Subaru Impreza STI driven by a 23-year-old La Puente man, who was traveling southbound on Echelon Avenue at about 25-30 mph.
According to the CHP, the driver was unable to avoid the pedestrian and struck him. The motorist stopped at the scene and complied with investigators.
The 39-year-old Valinda man was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending identification and notification of his relatives.
