3 Injured in Highway 50 Big Rig Crash in Rancho Cordova

Rancho Cordova, California (February 2, 2019) – Three people were injured Friday night in a traffic accident involving a big rig and at least one other vehicle in Rancho Cordova, according to a local news source.
The collision was reported at around 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 1 on Highway 50 near Mather Field Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup truck collided with a Target big-rig truck on eastbound Highway 50.
The force of the impact caused the big rig to jackknife across all four lanes of the highway. The pickup truck was in the center divider with frontal damage.
The driver of the big rig and two other people sustained minor injuries in the collision.
Cleaning and clearing operations were performed at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
