Pedestrian Seriously Injured in San Diego Pedestrian Accident Monday night on Imperial Avenue near Greenwood Memorial Park
San Diego, California (January 29, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle Monday night in San Diego, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at around 7:45 p.m. Monday, January 28 on Imperial Avenue near the entrance to the Greenwood Cemetery in the Mountain View neighborhood, just west of 44th Street and Marketplace Avenue.
Authorities said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle for an undetermined reason on Imperial Avenue outside the entrance to Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and rendered aid to the pedestrian who sustained major injuries in the crash. The patient was then taken to a hospital for treatment.
The name of the victim and their condition were not immediately disclosed.
According to police, the vehicle involved was described as a white Ford Escape. It was not mentioned in the report whether or not the driver remained at the scene after the accident.
Authorities shut down all lanes of Imperial Avenue in both directions following the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
