Meredith Smith and Stephen Hook Killed in Northridge Crash on Parthenia Street
Northridge, California (January 28, 2019) – 62-year-old Meredith Smith of Lancaster, has been identified as the passenger killed after a traffic collision Sunday afternoon in the area of Northridge, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at around 2:08 p.m. Saturday, January 26 in the 17500 block of Parthenia Street.
As per the report, 61-year-old Stephen Hook of the Sherwood Forest neighborhood of Northridge was driving a sports coupe when his car collided with a sedan for reasons still under investigation.
Hook sustained grave injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a hospital where he later died. His passenger, Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters extricated the driver and front passenger of the sedan who were pinned in the vehicle. They were then transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Two rear passengers of the sedan reportedly sustained severe injuries and were also taken to the hospital.
Authorities closed Parthenia Street between White Oak and Louise avenues following the collision.
An investigation is ongoing.
