Aaron Kangas Fatally Hit by Car on Highway 101 in Humboldt County

Humboldt County, California (January 25, 2019) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Humboldt County on Tuesday morning has been identified as Aaron Wade Kangas, 56, of Eureka, according to the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office.

The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. January 22 on Highway 101 north of the Humboldt Hill on-ramp.

CHP said Kangas was walking on Highway 101 when he was hit by multiple vehicles, including a big rig.

Kangas was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The authorities are investigating the incident.
