1 Seriously Injured in Highway 74 Accident near Tenaja Truck Trail
Lake Elsinore, California (January 20, 2019) – A person was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision in the Santa Ana Mountains, according to a local news source.
The accident was reported at around 2:16 p.m. on State Route 74, just south of Tenaja Truck Trail. State Route 74 is also called Ortega Highway.
According to a witness, a motorcycle collided head-on with an SUV before hitting several other vehicles, including another motorcycle.
One person was airlifted to the hospital with major injuries. The name of the patient and their condition were not immediately disclosed.
Lanes on State Route 74 was shut down at Luce Oak Store Road as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. As of 4:55 p.m. the affected lanes were reopened.
CHP is investigating the accident.
