Glenn County, California (January 18, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Thursday night in Glenn County, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at an unspecified time on Highway 32 near County Road P between Hamilton City and Orland.
As per the report, the man had pulled over to assist a driver whose vehicle had been struck by another car as they entered Highway 32 from County Road P. As the victim was assisting the other motorist he was hit and killed by another driver who fled eastbound in a gray or dark sedan.
Responding firefighters confirmed the man dead at the scene. The victim’s name was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
Officials closed down Highway 32 in both directions between Hamilton City and Orland following the collision.
The suspect vehicle reportedly sustained front-end damage after the collision. Police are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
