Desert Hot Springs, CA: 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 62, Jan. 10
Yucca Valley Man and Morongo Valley Man Injured in Highway 62 Accident between Pierson Boulevard and Indian Canyon Drive
Desert Hot Springs, California (January 11, 2019) – Two people were injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle collision near Desert Hot Springs, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The crash, which was reported at around 8:20 a.m., happened on Highway 62, between Pierson Boulevard and Indian Canyon Drive and involved a gray car and a black pickup.
When officers arrived at the scene, they determined that a Yucca Valley man was driving his vehicle on westbound Highway 62 when he sideswiped another car driven by a Morongo Valley man. The force of the impact caused the Yucca Valley man’s vehicle to flip over.
According to police, the Yucca Valley man sustained unspecified injuries and was transported to the hospital. The Morongo Valley man suffered minor injuries and did not need transportation to the hospital.
Authorities closed westbound Highway 62 for around seven hours as they investigated the cause of the crash. As of 3:30 p.m., the road was reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
