Santa Ana, CA: Two-Vehicle Crash Sends Car into Railroad Tracks at 17th Street and Lincoln Avenue

Santa Ana, California (January 9, 2019) – A woman was hospitalized after a traffic accident at an intersection in Santa Ana that sent one of the vehicles into the rail tracks on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the authorities, the collision happened at about 3:15 a.m. January 8 at 17th Street and Lincoln Avenue.

The authorities said a white Pontiac Grand Am was pushed into a nearby railroad crossing after a collision with another vehicle. There was an Amtrak train approaching the Pontiac and the elderly driver had to be helped by passing motorists.

The motorists pushed the Pontiac from the tracks and pulled out the woman inside.

The driver of the Pontiac, identified as a woman in her 90s, was taken to a hospital for treatment. No details were provided on the extent of her injuries.

No other injuries were reported from the incident.

Police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
