Minor Injuries Reported in San Diego Crash on 805 Freeway and Sweetwater Road

San Diego, California (January 8, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported after a traffic collision involving a tow truck Tuesday afternoon in the area of San Diego, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The accident happened at around 2:49 p.m. Tuesday, on 805 Freeway south of Sweetwater Road.
As per the report, a car and a tow truck with a Lexus IS 250 loaded on top of it crashed for reasons still under investigation.
An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the injured parties. The number of victims and their current condition remained unknown.
Officials issued a SigAlert closing lane 2, 3 and 4 following the accident. All the lanes were opened as of 4:05 p.m.
The tow truck’s rear axle was damaged as a result of the accident.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
No additional information concerning this incident was released.
The incident remains under investigation.
