Me-Jon Walker-Council ID’d as Third Person Killed in Sylmar Car Accident on 5 Freeway near 14 Freeway

Sylmar, California (January 9, 2019) – The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has identified the third person who was among the three people killed late last month in a wrong-way crash that also injured two others in Sylmar.
Me-Jon Richard Walker-Council, 24, of Tracy died in the crash alongside Antoine Kendrick, 49, and Audrey Barba, 18, of Palmdale.
The wreck took place at around 3:25 a.m. Friday, December 28 on the northbound 5 Freeway transition road to the northbound 14 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Walker-Council was heading southbound on the northbound lanes of the freeway transition when his 1998 Honda Accord collided head-on with a northbound 2017 Ford Mustang driven by Diego Barragan, 19, of Palmdale.
The force of the impact pushed the Mustang into a 2001 Chevrolet driven by Danyell Williams, 24, of Palmdale.
Two men in the Honda, Kendrick and Walker-Council, were both declared dead at the scene. Barba, who was Barragan’s passenger, was taken to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities said Williams and Barragan were transported to hospitals, where Barragan was being treated for major injuries, and Williams was treated for minor injuries and released.
Alcohol or drugs were considered factors in the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
