Red Bluff, California (January 7, 2019) – The man who was killed in a crash involving two cars on Friday night in Red Bluff has been identified as Julio Armador, 24, of Gerber, according to the police.

The wreck happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. January 4 on Highway 99W and Westover Road.

CHP said 19-year-old Sandra Macedo of Corning was driving southbound on Highway 99 when, for unknown reasons, she drifted into the northbound side and collided with a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Luis Garcia of Red Bluff.

The CHP and Cal Fire responded to the incident after receiving reports of victims trapped in the cars involved.

Armador was a passenger in the Macedo vehicle. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Two other juvenile passengers were taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Both drivers had moderate injuries and were both taken to Mercy Hospital.

The crash caused a closure of Highway 99W as the scene was examined and cleared.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
