Garden Grove, California (January 7, 2019) – Two persons were injured after an alleged DUI collision early Sunday morning in the area of Garden Grove, according to a local news source.

The accident happened at around 1:00 a.m. Sunday, January 6, on 22 Freeway, just west of Magnolia Street.

As per the report, two vehicles crashed for reasons still under investigation.

Emergency crews along with paramedics responded to the scene and attended to two persons injured in the collision. One person identified as a 50-year-old man was pinned inside one of the vehicles and was extricated by firefighters. The man was rushed UCI Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.

The other victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The victims’ names were not immediately available.

Authorities said that one of the drivers was unhurt in the crash and underwent a sobriety test.

The motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The incident remains under investigation.
