San Jose, California (January 7, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a multi-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon in West San Jose, according to a local news source.

The wreck happened at around 3:40 p.m. Sunday, January 6 on the southbound Highway 85 near De Anza Boulevard.

Details on how the collision occurred were not immediately available, but the CHP said at least one of the vehicles was stuck in a foot of water.

Possible injuries were reported in the crash.

The accident blocked the two left lanes of southbound  Highway 85. It was immediately unclear if the standing water contributed to the collision, but flooding was later reported on both sides of Highway 85 in the same general area.

No additional information was immediately provided. The crash remains under investigation.
