Woman Hurt in Bay Ho Pedestrian Crash on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near Pocahontas Avenue
San Diego, California (January 5, 2019) – A woman was struck and injured by a vehicle in the Bay Ho neighborhood on Friday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The incident happened at about 5:45 p.m. January 4 on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near Pocahontas Avenue near the Clairemont Town Square shopping center.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 58-year-old woman was standing in the roadway when a vehicle swerved to avoid her. A second vehicle, driven by a 43-year-old woman, was unable to swerve and struck the pedestrian.
The victim was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.
Police said alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the crash.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the incident.
