Jeffrey Raidor ID’d as Driver Injured in Deadly San Luis Obispo Car Crash on Los Osos Valley Road near Foothill Boulevard
San Luis Obispo, California (January 4, 2019) – The driver who was injured in a fatal wrong-way crash on Thursday morning in San Luis Obispo has been identified as Jeffrey Raidor, 42, of Los Osos, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident occurred at around 7:20 a.m. January 3, on Los Osos Valley Road, just east of Foothill Boulevard.
The CHP said a 52-year-old woman was driving a Honda Civic westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided head-on with a silver Dodge driven by Raidor. The vehicle directly in front of the Dodge was able to swerve out of the way to avoid the oncoming Civic, but Raidor could not move in time to prevent the crash.
The drivers of the two vehicles sustained major injuries and were transported to a hospital, where the 52-year-old woman later succumbed to her injuries. Her identity was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
Raidor was hospitalized with a broken ankle and pain to his body.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of their cars.
The crash remains under investigation.
