Karen Seydel, Danielle Doris, Wilma Whorton Hospitalized after Highway 101 Traffic Crash at La Franchi Road in Hopland
Hopland, California (January 3, 2019) – Three drivers were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident that happened Monday afternoon in Hopland, Mendocino County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident took place at about 2:25 p.m. December 30 on northbound Highway 101 at La Franchi Road between Real Goods and Old River Road.
CHP said Danielle Doris, 38, of Cloverdale, was driving an Acura northbound on Highway 101 when she swerved across the double yellow line and sideswiped a southbound Honda Accord driven by Wilma Worton, 77, of Rohnert Park.
The Accura then drifted into the southbound lanes and collided with a southbound Nissan Versa, driven by Karen Seydel, 75, of Ukiah.
Seydel and Doris suffered serious injuries. The two were airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Whorton was treated for minor injuries at Adventist Health Ukiah Valley hospital.
Highway 101 was closed in both directions for an unknown period following the accident.
CHP is investigating the collision.
