Rider, Car Driver Killed in Collision on Raitt Street near McFadden Avenue

Santa Ana, California (January 3, 2019) – A motorcyclist and a car driver were killed in a traffic collision on Wednesday afternoon in Santa Ana, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The accident was reported at around 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, January 2 on Raitt Street, just west of McFadden Avenue.
As per the report, a man was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he T-boned a red Dodge Charger as the car tried to make a U-turn.
The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to catch fire.
The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The woman driving the Dodge suffered major injuries and burns after she was trapped in her car while it was on fire. She was pulled out by the responding firefighters, after which she was taken to a hospital.
Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The victims’ names were not immediately available.
The police are working to find out the cause of the crash.
