Timothy Martinez Killed in East Hollywood Pedestrian Accident at Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue
Los Angeles, California (January 2, 2019) – The pedestrian who was fatally hit by an alleged DUI driver in East Hollywood early Monday morning has been identified as Timothy Martinez, 31.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred in the area of Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue at about 2:24 a.m. December 31.
The authorities said Martinez had been walking across the road when he was struck by a 2017 Lexus RX350 driven northbound on Vermont Avenue by Gankuyag Nyamdorj.
Martinez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nyamdorj was arrested on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the crash.
