Mildred Pabon Injured in San Diego Accident on 5 Freeway near Coronado Bridge
San Diego, California (January 2, 2019) – Mildred Pabon, 42, was injured after a traffic accident on Christmas Eve in the area of San Diego, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at an unspecified time on Monday, December 24, on 5 Freeway near the Coronado Bridge exit.
As per the report, Pabon was driving on the freeway when a suspected drunk driver hit her. Her cars went into a roll due to the impact.
Natalia Collins, Pabon’s niece, was one of the first persons to respond to the scene. Pabon was rushed to the hospital where she is still receiving treatment. She suffered from five cracked ribs on her left side, a broken pelvic bone, a broken lower spine, and multiple fractures from her knees down her legs. Her left leg will have to be amputated.
Officials said that the driver involved is facing felony DUI charges. The suspect’s name remained unknown.
An investigation is ongoing.
