44-Year-Old Man Killed in Vista Crash at Vale Terrace Drive
Vista, California (July 25, 2021) – A 44-year-old man was killed in a Saturday afternoon head-on collision in Vista, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 1:35 p.m., on July 24, in the 1000 blocks of Vale Terrace Drive.
According to the officials, a white Mazda sedan, driven by the 44-year-old man, was speeding on Veil Terrace Drive eastward when it lost control and crashed head-on into a westward Chevrolet Silverado.
The man was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His 44-year-old female passenger was hospitalized with major injuries.
A 77-year-old man, who was driving the pickup, was taken to La Jolla, a Scripps Memorial Hospital, with serious injuries but non-life-threatening.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
