Arnold Riebli Among 3 Hospitalized after Lakeville Collision on Old Adobe Road near Stage Gulch Road
Lakeville, California (July 22, 2021) – Arnold Riebli, 78, of Sonoma, was among three people who were injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident that also left one person dead in Lakeville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash was reported just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, on Old Adobe Road, just west of Stage Gulch Road.
Riebli was driving a Chevrolet Colorado eastbound on Old Adobe Road when, for unknown reasons, he crashed into the back of a Chevrolet Silverado that was also heading eastbound, the CHP reported.
The force of the impact pushed the Silverado into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a westbound Chevrolet Volt.
1 Killed, 3 Injured in Lakeville Multi-Vehicle Crash
A woman who was riding as a passenger in the Volt was declared deceased at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of her relatives.
Riebli sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Both drivers of the Volt and the Silverado were airlifted to the hospital with major injuries.
The collision prompted the officers to temporarily close Old Adobe Road for over three hours during the investigation. As of 8:00 p.m., the road was reopened.
Further details about the crash were not immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
