Emeryville, California (July 17, 2021) – One person was killed and two others were injured Friday night in a traffic crash in the Emeryville area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly collision occurred at about 10:05 p.m. Friday, July 16, at the intersection of Emery Street and West MacArthur Boulevard.

A video from the crash scene showed two vehicles with major damage.

In that video, an unknown number of people were trapped inside their vehicles and had to be rescued by emergency personnel.

One person died in the crash, while two other people sustained undisclosed injuries. Their names have not been disclosed.

Several off-ramps from Interstate 580 were closed following the wreck. As of Saturday morning, all 580 off-ramps had reopened.

No other details about the accident were immediately available.

The collision remains under investigation.
