Harbor City, CA: Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on South Vermont Avenue

Harbor City, California (July 10, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Friday night traffic accident that killed a 4-year-old girl and left two other parties, including a 5-year-old boy, injured in Harbor City.

The deadly accident occurred at about 8:20 p.m., on July 9, in the 26000 block of South Vermont Avenue.

According to the officials, the children were traveling with their uncle on the roadway when another vehicle that was parked across the street made an illegal U-turn in front of them. 

Their uncle veered off the roadway to avoid the collision and unfortunately struck a pole and flipped over.

The family of three was injured in the accident and were hospitalized for treatment. Sadly, the 4-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene and is being sought by the police.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
